On May 17, 2012, the Sierra Leone-flagged container ship "MARE THRACIUM", with a length of 195.5 meters and a beam of 32.25 meters, successfully berthed at the Jinghai Yuantong Shipyard dock for ship repair under the careful guidance of the pilot from the Shidao Sub-station of Weihai Pilot Station. To complete this pilot task, the Shidao Sub-station organized its personnel to conduct careful discussions and formulated a detailed and meticulous pilot plan and safety guarantee measures. During the berthing process, the pilot skillfully commanded two tugboats and, with superb technique, overcame numerous difficulties such as strong winds, fast currents, and a turning basin with only 260 meters of water area. After more than two hours, the ship was successfully berthed. It is understood that this ship is the largest vessel to berth at Jinghai Yuantong Shipyard in Rongcheng, Weihai since its establishment.
